S&WB generators fail at wastewater treatment plant, forcing discharge into river
The Sewerage & Water Board was forced to dump untreated sewage in the Mississippi River and Bayou Bienvenue after backup generators that had been supplying power during the post-Hurricane Ida blackout went down.
Interesting article about how wastewater had to be pumped into the Mississippi River, another negative effect from Hurricane Ida. This can't be good for a wetlands already crippled from too much salt water intrusion. The wetlands are like Joe Biden, they just can't catch a break, lol. Anyway the Mississippi River should do a decent job of flushing it into the Gulf of Mexico, not that that is a great thing, but I guess it happens all over the world on a daily basis, sad but true......
