On sinking Isle de Jean Charles, Ida shredded the few remaining homes

Interesting article about how a small fishing town in South Louisiana called Isle de Jean Charles faired during Hurricane Ida. Boy this part of the Louisiana wetlands has suffered just about more than any other area, the marsh is all but gone, it's just about all open water. The reason of course is that the Mississippi River was leveed up, cutting the area off of the fresh water and sediment that these swamps live on. The storms roll in and wash away the wetlands, so sad. To bad that we can't get the desire of the people to do something about it, a fresh water diversion to the area would go along way to saving what is left.

Yep, I don't understand the lack of effort

They need to find an endangered animal living in the area, that way they'd have to save it, lol
