As we travel around, we tend to do some research on places to go be it for the scenery, activities or to hang out. Here is my personal ratings of places to hang out in Kota Kinabalu with booze of course :D, to make it easier for all our steemian friends here. Let us know, don't be shy. Lets start with the least to top.

Top 5 - Souled out



You'll feel the warm, cozy and lively ambiance to it as and when you enter the premises. There's outdoor and indoor section to choose from, as for me its always outdoor. It's the right place to be after a long hectic day of shopping, to wind down and relax. On the plus side the food there is nice, I strongly recommend the smoke salmon pizza.

Top 4 - Hard Rock Cafe




If you are in town area and doesn't have any transportation to move around, then most likely Hard Rock Cafe is the right place to be to have a good look at the sunset, and its located at the city center. Food and drinks is on the high side when come to pricing, unless, its during Happy Hours where most of the drinks is on 50% off. But hey, Happy Hours timing is just the right timing for sunset viewing.

Top 3 - Alfresco





This is another place where you want to be at when the sun sets. Food and drinks is superbly delicious especially beers and cocktails. Staffs are friendly, and there's musician to entertain while you relax and mingle around. I personally often bring my friends and family here when they are in town for a more quieter environment.

Top 2 - Waterfront




Waterfront is situated right at the middle of the city center, it is right next to the mall where Hard Rock Cafe is. The reason Waterfront made it to the second place is cause, the drinks and food is much more affordable and there's huge variety to choose from, be it drinks or food. Waterfront is a row of pubs and restaurants next to the sea. There's more than a hand full of joints you could hang out at or better still do a round of bar hopping. The more popular ones are Shamrock Irish Bar and Beernest Mixo.

Top 1 - Sunset Bar

Its the most wanted place to be Decks are built specially for sunset viewing. Sun sets right before your eyes to mesmerize viewer. Reach there 2 hours in advance before sunset or book a place earlier, it will be packed specially on Sunday when they invite Jazz band to perform and cultural show performance for their guest. Don't say that I didn't warned you. Hope to see you around. Cheers!
