Immature Laughing Kookaburra
The Laughing Kookaburra is among the largest of the Kingfisher family. Their natural distribution is the eastern parts of mainland Australia. However, they have been introduced to Tasmania, parts of Western Australia and also New Zealand. They feed on anything from insects to lizards and small snakes. Their snake eating habits is the main reason why people have introduced them to other areas.
The first photo is an older shot of an adult Kookaburra. The other two shots were taken a couple of days ago and show an immature bird. The bill is shorter and it is duller with brown scalloping.

Thanks, These were taken with a Canon 7D and the Canon EF 400mm f/5.6 L Lens.
Love the sound of these birds!
Yes. Several going off at once is pretty awesome.
Their laughs are funny, they also have great timing too.
My partner was playing golf and gave me a hit (I don't play golf). As soon as I hit the ball a kookaburra nearby laughed like crazy hahaha.
