PREYS AND PREDATORS:the Prey and the Predator
The world of living things provides interesting scenes.
Some creatures are strange and some are unusual and others are even phenomenal. Flying fish can fly or glide some 100 metres!
The dormouse(rodent) sleeps for seven months or longer at a stretch!
Insectivorous plant traps insects within its leafy flowers and digest them!
Firefly(a small insect)glows with bright visible light as it moves!
Electric fish defends itself by 'shocking' it's captors The list is endless
Certain creatures also present classification problem.
Bat flies about like bird but does not lay egg like them.
Plautus(an Australian rodent) has beak and webbed feet like dock ,lays egg like reptiles, and breastfeed its young ones like mammals.
Euglena swims about like animals but perform photosynthesis like plants.
Our current interest ,however,focuses on the survival struggles in the animal kingdom. Stronger animals victimize weaker ones to sustain themselves .Here the stronger is called predator,and weaker the prey. Cats prey on mice,lizards on insects ,eagles on chickens,lions on deer etc.
Man preys on them all
But here's the question, WHAT preys on MAN????
Think and answer.
Man is very different .we have no invincible predators among animals. Even very dangerous animals have been subdued by man either forcefully or cleverly. There is however ,a predator of man who never wishes to be recognised. He often appears to be loving and caring,but its been revealed as an adversary,seeking whom he may devour.
Man's predator got no business with animals, he preys only on man! He has also a long term motive,quite different from just satisfying his appetite. It's to get many to doom with him. He uses clever method to achieve this, most youths are often attracted to his bait.
Preys recognise theirs predators and never waste time to avoid them: Mice speedily make for their burrows at the sight of a cat even when the cat does not look at their direction. And you're supposed to be more sensible than them. It is wisdom therefore that you don't continue to wine and dine with your predator.
So you must run to the tower of Safety and Refuge
Christ. He only has defeated our predator for us. Come to him and you'll be protected and preserved in his fold where no predator can come close.
