Exploring The Sprawling Beauty Of New York Botanical Garden (Part 1)
It was in the fall that we went to one of the biggest and most beautiful botanical gardens in New York. It was a pleasantly overwhelming place to explore. There's a lot to see. The plant world is enchanting and fabulously mysterious. There is an open shuttle that goes around the different areas of the garden but the line was long and we thought walking would be a more pleasant way to experience the majestic garden!
The curators and staff of NYBG have done a great job in making that place what it is today. I could imagine the hard work that goes into that beautiful garden each and everyday. The whole place is clean, every body was very helpful and pleasant and the energy is wonderful. All areas are gorgeously curated and organized.
We had a lot of fun exploring the different species of plants. There were many that I had never heard of, read of or seen before. Nature is simply amazing. You would never think a plant can look or act a certain way. Yes... I said act... because some plants do actually move!
NYBG is a huge place to explore and walking can be very tiring but I actually felt energized as we explored the garden. Plants have a very positive energy and it just feels so good to be surrounded by them!
My favorite area would probably be the conservatory. I mean, all of NYBG is beautiful but the conservatory has become many visistors' favorite. Maybe it's because of its architecture. The dreamy glass ceilings and the gorgeous interior is a sight to behold.
The flowers are so captivating. When you see one, you cannot help but stop and appreciate its beauty. Their colors speak to us. Their essence is healing. No wonder we give them to people who are sick and recovering.
One of my favorite plant varieties would be of the palm family. They just remind me of the tropics and all the other good emotions that come with it! :)
There is alsoan orchid area in NYBG and it so mesmerizing to be surrounded by those gorgeous flowers! Orchids grow in clusters and they have a very distinct charm to them.
Go ahead and scroll through the photos I took during our visit there. I wish I had taken my professional camera to capture the beauty of that place, but a phone camera
wasn't too bad.
I hope one day you can visit this wonderful enchanting place called New York Botanical Garden.
A friend who went to Brooklyn Botanic ( another botanical garden in NY) said that NYBG is Bigger and far more beautiful.
We were lucky enough to catch the last day of Chihuly art exhibit. It was a glass sculpture installation exhibit by the artist, Dale Chihuly. There were several unique Chihuly installations scattered around the garden. The pieces stood out among the variety of plants with their unusual shapes and colors and add a weird kind of beauty to the still life of plants.
Each plant is labeled well with some information about its nature. I wish I could read each and everyone of them but once you're in the garden, there is so many different plants that its impossible to read each plant's profile.
I wonder how many gardeners and botanists NYBG employs. I would guess more than 50. There'sjust so many plants to take care of!
I could spend a whole day here.
Thank you for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed it :)
