SWAN SADNESS :-(

in #nature8 years ago

Came across this bevy of swans on the "Manor of St. George's" beach. Never seen something quite like this before. They were all resting and napping it seemed. I took some pictures without them getting upset. Studying the birds for awhile it appeared the one furthest up on the beach was dead.

This was a special gathering, this was a "swan wake". They were mourning a loved one. It was a very sad scene.

These Mute Swans mate for life unless sometimes mating is unsuccessful or one of them dies. I withdrew and left them to their Sadness.

This is one of those creatures who really should lead an immortal fairy-tale life. Such a noble bird indeed.

They do stand out in a crowd.

Aww man that is sad, but also
heartwarming how the others are nearby.
Such beautiful creatures, some make it
up here for the summers.
They have such a lovely call.

Nature never fails to amaze.

How peaceful they are in their natural environment.
That is why their natural space must be preserved.

Yes agree most heartedly.

Yes, an amazing species.

These are some white swans. They look like angels. There is a lake next to them. It's like the place where I fish!

这些是些白天鹅嘛,看上去就像是天使一样,还有就是旁边这个湖,很像我钓鱼的地方!

Bird angels they are.

Yes, because they are really beautiful!

是的,因为她们真的好美啊!

Tremendous deduction, analysis or conclusion around the photos taken; which makes them not only particular photos but rather in a very special sad story.
Greetings @manorvillemike

I could be wrong. But my experience with birds tells me this was what was going on.

This is heartbreaking. They sure do look like they were mourning...amazing!

Birds are very smart.

Such a shame.

Oddly, this somewhat ties in with a post I had this week on Human Nature where I mention animals grieve. Now I know I was correct.

Thank you for not interrupting their quiet time.

Humans can learn from watching nature, which we have divorced ourselves from.

Yes, and unfortunately I think that is because we think we are able to out smart nature. And that in itself isn't smart.
