FEATHER DANCE //
Driving south on my street I stopped to take in some Wild Turkeys doing their feather dance.
The male Wild Turkey (meleagris gallopavo) spread their wings and use gobbling/drumming/booming and spitting for social dominance and female attracting.

Benjamin Franklin wanted to make the Turkey the United States National symbol. Maybe one of the reasons was the Turkey's ability of displaying the colors red, blue and white on their heads. The colors can change according to their moods. White showing the most excitement.
Whoa look at those fans!!
Awesome photographs @manorvillemike!
Was the last one by the road also?
We got to see some wild turkeys in
CA, none here tho.
Yes by the road, I zoomed in.
Nice shots
Thanks @chelsea88
Beautiful animals, animals that can inspire you. You must be very happy to see the animal.
Yes was a thrill.
May your life be a success always.
Thank you ...and your life fill your dreams.
It always makes my day to see wild turkeys out and about in the fields!
We have only had them for some 10 years. Were introduced here on Long Island from up state NY.
Cool! Turkeys are usually so reclusive, it is difficult to catch and photograph them doing this.
They were wrapped up in their strutting. Didn't pay me no mind. Thanks @squishsquid
Very good your post @manorvillemike, well synchronized between the information of the turkeys, Benjamin Franklin and that Burlesque show. Very funny. Congratulations. Greetings.

Thanks @cjao20 .. I like to amuse myself as much as possible. lol
Wow wonderful footage. These turkeys are stunning in the game of love.
How long have you been into photography?
Long time.
