Big tree, small fruit

We have just left behind the mangoes station. We still see mangoes, but very few. When the time of the mangoes passes, we can get them in the shops at a very high price. People get fed up of mangoes, and start given them away because they bring too many flies.

Now we see in all places that the sucker tree is occupying the space of the mangoes. This tree is majestic but its fruits are small. It is the eighth tropical fruit on the planet, powerful in nutrients, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. Their harvest ends in two months but the trees have already been cleaned because people consume them too much. We have vendors of suckers in all the cities of the country, they are sold in bundles. Some are sweet like honey but others surprise you because are too acid. In Venezuela we don't give these fruits to children because they are gelatinous, and they can swallow the seed, and run the risk of soffocation.

We see these trees evewhere, now we are waiting for the tangerines, by December we will see the pawpaws, and I did not mention the guavas, the tamarind, the ponsiguet, the medlars, the soursop, etc. Venezuela is still as the conquerors said, a beautiful paradise.
