Angel falls in Venezuela

Angel falls is the highest waterfall in the world. Its height is 978 metres. The waterfall originates from the top of a flat mountain Auyan of Tepui and is located in the remote jungles of Venezuela. Hiking trails to this place does not exist.

The waterfall was discovered in the early XX century Explorer Ernesto Sanchez La Cruz, but was not widely known until the flight of James angel. Angel first saw the falls in 1933, when the territory flew in search of ore.

Four years later, angel flew past the waterfall with three passengers on Board, including his wife. The plane was damaged, and angel had to put him on the peak of mount Auyan-tepui, the top of the waterfall. Monoplane "Flamingo" landed on the swampy land at the top of the waterfall and stayed there for 33 years, until he took out the helicopter.
