Life without leaves, but nourish the hair
Tali Putri (meaning: the rope of princess), as we call it in Sumatra, has long been used as a potent plant to nourish the hair, that is by wetting the head using mucus from the juices of the plant Tali Putri. This plant is also used to treat some other diseases, even cancer treatment.
Nevertheless, the plant by the scientific name Cassytha filiformis L (English: Cassytha; Chinese: ye wu teng), has a bad impression because it is a parasitic plant, regarded as a nuisance, which inhibit the growth of the host plant. Indeed, throughout life, Tali Putri is highly dependent on host plants, or in other words, he grew up and sucking nutrients from other plants. That is because this plant is little or no chlorophyll on duty 'to cook', so that the plant is not able to provide food for oneself.
Tali Putri is also climb to the top of the plant in order to obtain the sunshine, and wrapped around each other. In Tali Putri infestation of plants, the leaves that over time will turn yellow and die. Suction or root suckers that attach to other plants that are used for the treatment of cancer.
Tali Putri stem is smooth round shape resembling a thread, limp, branched, can reach 300 meters long with a diameter of less than 0.5 mm, green or yellowish brown. Leaves in the form of small scales, small white flowers yellowish and hang-shaped grains by length of 2.5 cm. Round and fleshy fruit with a diameter of 7mm. And this plant is also often found growing on other plants in the bush. I found this, living in the bushes near the beach.
