Night of the common crane

Common crane is a tall bird that nest during summer at northern part of Europe and Asia. During winter it goes all the way to Africa, even some stay at south Europa or Asia. It lives summer at marsh or shoal. During migration it lands on fields to rest and eat.

There is a national park and big marsh area pretty near our summer place that holds lot of cranes during summer. And right next to summer place is a small marsh that one couple has been living many years. They are quite loud when taking off or landing.

That couple arrives some time during the evening and moves near the same place. If they come earlier they might hide in the high weed before going to the shallow part of lake where they spend the night. Last summer i build a special stand for trail camera that I could put it near that spot and capture on camera the night of common crane.
