The okapi, a mixture of zebra and hyena. It seems kind of weird, right?
It is an animal originating in Central Africa, particularly the Congo, and seems a rare mixture of zebras and hyenas, although in fact it comes from the giraffe family. At the top, her hair is reddish and pointed, while on the underside (legs and buttocks) we would immediately relate it to a zebra, for its unmistakable black and white stripes. The okapi is a species of artiodactyly considered mammal considered living creature closest to the giraffe. It has been appreciated that its particular morphology and appearance bears a very important resemblance to the first jiráfidos of prehistory. Some characteristic features betray him like jiráfido: the form of its body, the small horns on both sides of the head and the long black tongue that uses to eat leaves of the trees. This tongue has such a length that, if you like, the okapi can access the inner part of your ears. Some, in addition, have associated them also with the family of the horses by the resemblance to these morphologically.
😀
What a different looking animal. I know of okapi from doing crossword puzzles but I've never seen one til now. Thanks.
