When in Siquijor - The Mysterious Island in the Philippines

in #nature7 years ago

Mountains of Siquijor Island hide many a quaint marvel. Located a little off the beaten track, Tulawog Cave is one of the island’s gems. It comprises an underground system of seldom frequented natural limestone tunnels and rock chambers. A true wonder of nature and pure paradise for amateur explorers . http://www.poluzuj.pl/jaskinia-tulawog-cave-siquijor-philippines-photo-gallery/

Various karst formations, spectacular flowstones, glamorous draperies and limestone cascades arranged in the form of deep tubs filled with crystal clear water can all be found down there. All in all an hour or so of thrilling exploration to the sounds of an underground stream patiently finding its way through the rock. Simply stunning. http://www.poluzuj.pl/jaskinia-tulawog-cave-siquijor-philippines-photo-gallery/

These trees are also where sorcery rituals are being performed. In Siquijor, we found a 400-plus year-old balete tree which is believed by the locals to be enchanted to this day. http://www.choosephilippines.com/go/heritage-sites/1544/siquijor-balete-tree

You can relax yourself by the fish spa near the old Balete tree for P10.00 only.

Cambugahay is a 3-tiered waterfall. The water is very clear and blue. At the lowest tier, there’s an improvised swing you could use for free. The water is very swim-able. You could also jump from the top of the falls since the base is deep enough. Make sure you ask the guides there where to jump. The lowest tier is where most tourists swim. It’s the biggest and probably the deepest as well. There are available makeshift tables and chairs free of use.

Salagdoong Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Siquijor. This white sand beach located in the town of Maria has a very wide area. Its beachfront is separated by a small rocky hill (hummock) which you can climb to enjoy a better view of the whole beach.
