Illegal Wooden Plot, Governor Revoke Business Permit Sawmill Meriah

Governor of Aceh drh. Irwandi Yusuf, M. Sc, officially revoked the Timber Forest Product Primary Business License (IUIPHHK) to Sawmill Hakim Meriah Company in Bener Meriah Regency.

This was conveyed Tehnical Assistant Governor of Aceh, M. Rizal Falevi Kirani, Friday (26/01/2018).

Falevi explained that the revocation of the permit was stated in the Decision of the Governor of Aceh Number 522/19/2018 dated January 25, 2018, is part of the follow-up action carried out by the Governor of Aceh on 24 November 2017 and at IUIPHHK of Sawmill Hakim Meriah's business.

"At the same time, the governor Irwandi Yusuf found the abuse of licenses by collecting or processing wood raw materials from illegal sources," said Falevi.

On that basis, Falevi, Head of the Office of Environment and Forestry of Aceh, issued a letter regarding the proposed revocation of IUIPHHK business license on behalf of Sawmill Hakim Meriah dai Bener Meriah.

"Because in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Forestry, IUIPHHK, the business of Sawmill Hakim Meriah has committed a violation of treating, collecting or processing raw materials of forest products originating from illegal or illegal source of raw materials," he said.

It is also justified by the Head of Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of Aceh Government Mulyadi Nurdin, Lc, MH.

According to Mulyadi Nurdin, the decision of the governor of Aceh also revoked the decision of the previous governor of Aceh with the number 522.562 / BP2T / 761 / IUIPHHK / IV / 2016 dated April 18, 2016 regarding the granting of Permit of Wood Product Primary Industry (IUIPHHK) of sawmill to Sawmill Hakim Meriah in Bener Meriah district of Aceh province.

"Thus since the revocation of the previous Governor of Aceh's decision with the number 522.562 / BP2T / 761 / IUIPHHK / IV / 2016 dated April 18, 2016, then all industrial activities previously conducted by Sawmill Hakim Meriah efforts to stop immediately," said Mulyadi.

According to Mulyadi Nurdin, the Government of Aceh is very serious in preserving the environment through the Aceh Green program, which is one of the flagship programs of Irwandi-Nova.

As reported earlier, Aceh Governor Irwandi Yusuf conducted a sudden inspection of two logging sites in Wer Tingkem Village, Mesidah Sub-district and Rusip Village, Main Shiah District, on 24 November 2017.

While doing the inspection to Rusip Village precisely in the wood factory, owned by Sawmill Hakim Company, Irwandi found many timber in the cut without permission.
