Beautiful hike through the mountains (South Africa)
Hey Steemit!
I want to start off by saying that I didn't take these pictures today, but rather a couple of months ago.
I don't usually share much of my life on social media, but seeing all of the other awesome posts on here about places people have been and are going inspired me to share this experience of mine. I really hope content like this will inspire others out there to go exploring. It's an impulse we're all born with - even though it sometimes gets buried by the complexities of our modern day world - and I believe it's essential for building a happy lifestyle.
Hopefully these images will reawaken the curiosity and wonder of our world in someone!
These images were taken during a hike through the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve in Stellenbosch, South Africa
Started off just as the morning sun was coming over the mountains

A little further up the trail
After quite a steep climb, the path and the riverbed combine as walls of stone rise up on either side
Some of the interesting rock formations through which the river has cut a chasm
The water and shade make this part of the trail noticeably cooler
Finally, the end of the trail! A beautiful pool and waterfall, a little chilly but well worth the dip

These are so beautiful! I didn't realize that South Africa had mountains and little caves that you can explore. I'll have to put this on my list of places to visit. Thanks for sharing!
Makes me want to go back to south africa. - i had an amazing time there a couple of years ago.
Really hope you can visit again soon! It is a bit cold and miserable at the moment for hiking though, unless it's to see the snow :)
