Interesting post but you missed the obvious characteristic for distinguishing between fruits and vegetables (which you might wish to edit in?):
Fruits are typically sweet whilst vegetables are not (hence the reason peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers etc. are classed amongst the vegetables when they're actually fruits, biologically speaking).
