Hidden Waterfalls near Falling Water Falls, Signal Mountain, TN
We explored the road less traveled. Our 3 miles adventure involved rappelling down 100 ft cliffs, dozens of unnamed and unidentified waterfalls. This area is known for being able to look down, but there is no trail to the bottom or along the creek.
Falling Water State nature area is on top of Signal Mountain and has natural springs feeding creeks. Here is up at the bottom of the cliff starting our adventure
I relaxed in the hammock while Victoria, @vsoutdoorsnaps, and Daniel photographed the wall and waterfall
We continued on to an area which didn't have a trail. We were bushwacking for a while. We were rewarded with this:
Continue up and around the falls and find this:
Of course the waterfall hunter was in heaven:
Climb to the top and continue on around the creek
Lots of cascades to photograph.
I think we counted about 7 waterfalls along this loop. It did involved some dangerous decent and steep ascents on the side of Signal Mountain.
This 3 miles loop was very off the beaten path. I would have never found it if I wasn't taken by someone who had been there before.
