Facts On Black Widow Spider

Fact 1

Black widow spiders are bright red or yellow in colour and located on the abdomen. There's about 19-20 different types of black widow spiders discovered. At least four species call the United States home. This spider spite is so feared because it's venomous.

Fact 2

In human beings their poison cause muscle aches, stomach discomfort, nausea and breathing problems. However, is extremely rare bite can be fatal. The new born and old people are sensitive to them. If someone is bitten, they will need medical attention right away. Doctors will stabilize them and manage their symptoms. Anti-venom isn't widely available but it's very effective.

Fact 3

Believe it or not, the anti-venom is made
from horse serum. They seriously inject
horses over and over again with black
widow spider venom until they produce
the anti-venom. The medical team handling the bike case should conduct skin tests before using the anti-venom. Anaphylactic shock can be a serious concern. Some people are extremely allergic to the horse ear folks.

Fact 4

Black widow spiders are nocturnal and thus are active during the night. They prefer dark
corners and crevices. Generally speaking, only the female one attack on people and she bites only when disturbed.

Interestingly, the female eats male most of the time after sex that’s why we called them a ‘Black widow spider’.
