The Jacks Fork River - Bacher's Access
The view upriver
I've been craving the river lately. First I went down with just Willie Nelson on Saturday to Bluff View. (If you would like to view those posts they are here and here: https://steemit.com/photography/@hethur240/bluff-view-a-little-river-trip-with-willie-nelson-part-1 https://steemit.com/nature/@hethur240/bluff-view-a-little-river-trip-with-willie-nelson-part-2)
Today I invited @tiredmama and another friend to go with me to a point on the Jacks Fork River known as Bacher's. It is named after the family who owned it before Ozark National Scenic Riverways basically took it away from them. I'm sure they were compensated, but it still seems to be a touchy subject to some residents.
Bacher's access features a nice gravel bar, a large, deep swimming and fishing hole, a tiny trickle of a stream across the river coming from a small cave, and a huge bluff wall opposite the beach. Our April flooding took out many of the large trees that once provided shade to the beach. As it is, only one large tree remains. We placed our chairs under this tree and let @tiredmama's baby and our friend's daughter play.
This is the small cave the tiny stream comes from. You can barely hear it, but it does make a nice, calming sound.
A look inside the small cave. Not much can be seen, but I thought the greenery was pretty.
@tiredmama and I's friend and her daughter. She was showing her how to throw the rocks in the water. After that we couldn't keep her out of it!

Someone painted on this log. We don't normally see a lot of graffiti at the river, just a lot of trash.
This is what a gravel bar looks like, for those that don't know.
A view of the bluff as seen directly across from the gravel bar.

We spent about 2 or 3 hours at this access. We only left when the excitement was just too much for the 2-year-old and she succumbed to screaming fits after not being allowed to get all the way in the river. Imagine us not letting that sweet little girl dunk herself in the cold river. The horror.
I hope you enjoyed our little river trip. Thanks for looking! Stay tuned for some flowers from the trip. There were so many!

Oh, so beautiful!!! Glad you ladies got to enjoy a beautiful day out at Baucher's. One of my favorite places!
Thank you, @melodyrussell! Miss your face!
the panarama turned out awesome!!! I like how you put the ugly tree in black and white, adds a good touch to how we feel about river graffiti and trash!! Loved getting to hang out with you and birdette and her man tony!
I had thought about photos of them with your baby, but they're definitely choking hazards and we wouldn't want that! Thanks again for going with me. It was so nice to get out of the house without going to work or grocery shopping. It was also nice that things stayed positive without much negative talk about anything or anyone. I love you ladies!

Thank you, @sorn1992! Hello!
What a beautiful spot for an outing. Looks like you had a wonderful time. Great photos. Thanks for sharing your outing.
That spot is pretty amazing looking! The bluff is most impressive!
I wonder what kind of goodies you could find in that gravel bar, agates perhaps?
Thanks, @amberyooper! I find a lot of quartz. Sorry I just now saw this!
