Jacks Fork River Walking - The Pups at Bacher's and Baptism Hole

Tuesday was a gorgeous 76 degrees. @melodyrussell and I happened to have an opportunity to go hang out together at the river for the first part of the day. We visited accesses like Bacher's, Baptism Hole, Pebble Dam, and Low Water. I was looking for wildflowers; Mel was looking for morels. We didn't find any morels, but we did find tons of wildflowers.

We brought along their dog Bastian, and three of my pups: Willie Nelson, Emma Jane, and Chico Rico Rodriguez. They had such a great time. They ran and ran and ran. They sniffed. They peed on anything and everything. They found decomposing things and rolled in them. They rubbed their faces in sand and then complained when they got sand in their eyes and up their noses.

Unfortunately we found more than just wildflowers. Someone apparently decided to rid themselves of their sound system by burning their speakers and etc. in one of Baptism Hole's fire pits and then leaving the metal and bits that didn't burn behind. We didn't have a way to carry this off as we didn't have any trash bags or boxes or anything. I'm sticking some trash bags in my car for the next hike. This is just ridiculous.

At one point the pups got the crazies and ran all around, rolling in the sand and gravel, shoving their faces in it, digging little holes and then dashing away. They were so funny.

After all that they needed a rest. They chose to lay in the shade under a downed tree Mel and I were sitting on.

Somehow I failed to take any photos of the bluffs or the river itself. Seriously. I don't know how I managed that. I guess I was too busy looking for neat rocks, tumbled glass, and keeping an eye on the pups. Who knows. Anyway, thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned for more!
