My brother @jakeimnotshure and I went on what was supposed to have been an easy, relaxing walk along the river to visit a couple of caves.
What I forgot is that the caves we planned on visiting are up on the side of a steep hill. Nothing about this walk was easy or relaxing. In fact, I fell not once, not twice, but three times. I even lost my phone at one point, which thankfully Jake found after tracing the way I slid down on my ass from the first cave. It was THAT steep.
Inside the cave
This cave was about 30 feet wide and 20 feet deep. It's ceiling was a good 8 or 9 foot. Since it doesn't go back very far, it's actually pretty well lit. We took a break (because I was dying).
Willie Nelson didn't want to go inside the hole so I just grabbed a photo of it with my flash instead.
He also wouldn't crawl into this hole. What a fuddy-dud.
More ceiling
There is another cave to come in this series plus just the hike @jakeimnotsure and I took to get to these caves. Stay tuned!!!
Wow, you are braver than I am! 😊 I only go in caves where they have paths and guides like Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico and all the cool caves in Texas.
I've been in so many caves I can't even count them. Private property, public property, commercial caves, legally and illegally. ;)
I actually don't really like commercial caves because you can't go through at your own pace and you're always competing with other site-seers for good photos. Plus I can't take my adventure dog with me. Haha! I need a good miner's helmet.
You are a spelunker! Glad you found your phone and were not hurt.cool little stalactites!
Thanks, @melinda010100! We were so lucky to find it. It is small and black so it could have hidden anywhere. Hope you're having a great week!
