Caterpillar on the move

I nearly stepped on this plump fellow last weekend while out on hike. He is called Actias luna caterpillar and will transition into a Luna Moth.

My finger for size

We placed him on a nearby oak tree for safety. There was a bit of foot traffic going by him.
