Bear Grass flowers - Xerophyllum tenax

These Bear Grass grow in large numbers on the side of Abercrombie Mountain in northeast Washington state. In July the flower stalks reach towards the sky and fill with a profusion of the small white flowers. The scent is incredible and can be like a wall on the trail when there are large numbers of Bear Grass growing together.
