It snowed In the Sahara for the first time in nearly 40 years. According to the photographer who made pictures in the north of the desert, "the snow lay about a day, and then began to melt." Snow fell in the African Sahara desert for the first time in 37 years, reports the Independent newspaper citing an eyewitness.
"Everyone was shocked snowfall in the desert, it is a very rare event," - said the amateur photographer Karim Bushetata, make pictures in the Algerian town of Ain Sefra in the north of the desert. According to him, "the snow lay about a day, and then began to melt."

At  Bushetat's photos there is a thin layer of snow covers the dunes, creating a wave-like patterns.
