I been reading some about Rafflesia long ago.
Generally, i knew the basic information regarding it.
Through books, documentary, and by stories from other.
I think i had read a lot, heard quite much but remembered lesser than what i supposed to have.😅

Rafflesia was said as one of the world largest flower.
Red in colour and creamy in some part of it figure.
Parasitic,no stem,no leaves or roots.
It lying down on the ground just like that.

As far as I knew,Rafflesia was discover by Sir Stamford Raffles and his friend Dr Joseph Arnold at Sumatra.
When they found it on year of 1818,they named it as Rafflesia Arnoldi.
The name after the duo.Well, nice name though.

Nice name,short lifespan😅
If I don’t mistaken,Rafflesia last only few days.
It have to find a couple ready to cross pollinate as soon, before its cycle come to an end.
However,it difficult to find couple too.
Rafflesia can be said near to its extinction because it depended on some sort of vine to continue exist.
I couldn’t recalled the type of vine.
As the vine was dissapearing itself, the Rafflesia was brought along to its death.
It seem like those sure gambled its life for vine to live.

Heavy rains ruined Rafflesia, that its buds were rotting.
Too little rains also not good circumstances for it to live.
At the edge of it end life,Rafflesia be very smelly like rotting meat😅
Very smelly that it attracted flies.

Do you know Rafflesia benefit to health too?
I heard from some people that the buds can be boil and to use it as a traditional medication.
I am not sure of its function as traditional medication.

Rafflesia found at southeast asia for an example Indonesia,Thailand,Philippines and Malaysia.
So,if anyone want to see the Rafflesia, better explore where to find it.🙂
As in Malaysia,at Borneo, there is a forest reserve to protect this unique flower at Tambunan.
Luckily Sabah done the conservation.
Now,those place are safe,at least to still be able to look out for Rafflesia.

I wished to see this Rafflesia also soon.
As I haven’t meet Rafflesia,I couldn’t post any photo photographed by my own.
When i get to see it,i will make sure to capture its beauty.

Florals need to be protected especially those at risk of extinction.
There some other unique floral here at Malaysia.
I hope to talk about the other in my next post.
Rafflesia should be something to proud of,as it made Borneo an attractive place for foreigners.🙂

Until here from me by now,a very short information sharing.
I only spoke this according to my general knowledges.
Any comments, and sharings are most welcome.

Wishing you be bless.
Thanks for reading.🙏🏼
