Nice, the energy of the crowd reminds me of Burning Man at sunset after a blisteringly hot day. 50000 people in the desert cheering all at once is something else.
Wow, 100k! What a massive metropolis of humans in the middle of nowhere! Traffic must have been a nightmare. Even with only 50000 at Burning Man, coming over a 3 day period, in an organized manner, it's still awful.
For that and other reasons I usually prefer observing astronomical phenomena without so many other people. I don't get quite the same vibe from the cosmos, especially if it's like a frat party all around me. I get better photos and videos of the events that way, too. Then again, nothing beats the energy of a crowd! Each experience would be amazing in its way.
The experience with the eclipse at that event was once in a life time. Idk if anything will ever match it. I would like to see an eclipse near the N or S pole. I hear they are much more intense, bigger, and last much longer. I also heard that during eclipses near the poles, the sky gets so dark you can see every star in the sky. This also applies to an eclipse viewed at a time when the sun is near the horizon.
I have many more videos from this event I will be posting soon. I haven't released the really good ones yet.
You were trying your hardest not to look into the sun huh or were you too anxious to dance one out?
