Millennium Bridge in Kazan
The Millennium Bridge residents of Kazan jokingly called Linoleum, since before the final commissioning in 2007, the movement on it was carried out only under one half of the letter "M". The official version of the name, of course, is associated with the jubilee celebrations on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of Kazan, to which the opening of the bridge was timed. The letter "M", in the central part of the bridge, is the first and in the word millennium and the initial one in the word millennium in the Tatar language ( Mejellik ).
The Millennium Bridge is a modern landmark of the city, especially it is beautiful at night sightseeing tours in Kazan, as it has a spectacular backlight.
This is the highest bridge in Kazan, it crosses the Kazanka river from Vishnevsky streets and Amirkhan avenue. The total length of the bridge is 1524 meters, of which the cable-stayed part is 318 meters. The letter "M" has a height of 45 meters and a base of 64 meters, under each of its halves there are three car lanes and a secure isolated pavement for pedestrians.
