Sorry man, I left PDX 3 years ago. The last 6 months I lived in Oregon was in Eugene. If you follow me you will soon discover that I encourage everyone who believes SHTF to leave PDX and all of the west coast. I had too many bad experiences in Portland.
As far as snakes and reptilians go in Portland I don't know what you are talking about. I caught TONS of Garter snakes along the Springwater Corridoor. Maybe you should take a bike ride along it sometime. This is the time of year so you should see plenty of them slithering around there. This is an old video from the summer 2013. The snakes were all different colors too.
