Australia Blue Mountains

in #nature5 years ago

We had a weekend visiting the lovely world famous National Park near Sydney called The Blue Mountains - so named due to appearing blue from the ocean when first viewed on Captain Cooks exploration voyage that discovered Australia for the English.

It only takes an hour and a half to drive up to Katoomba where we decided to stay, the accommodation was lovely too.

We had some great walks in the bush, and checked out the 3 Sisters which are mountains as well.

If you ever get a chance to visit Australia make sure you come up to the Blue Mountains for a day trip or longer.

We had some amazing food, and there are many really highly rated restaurants to choose from too.

The Blue Mountains National Park is one of the first National Parks in the world, and covers over 1000000 acres in area.

You can do rock climbing, canyoning, kayaking, bush walking, hang gliding and many other outdoor adventure activities with professional guides to help you enjoy in safety.

Australian Aboriginals would laugh at me saying Captain Cook discovered Australia, as they have lived here for 60000 years or longer, it is so insulting to not consider the devastation western people have bought onto their culture and lifestyles.

We saw some native animals and birds as well, a koala, a goanna and a white cockatoo also.

Please comment if your interested and will do some more blogs on our trips in Australia soon.
