Wine Barrel Bees Swarming!
Hey everyone, this swarm moved into this wine barrel last year around this time. They are now developed enough to move into a normal hive which we shall do just as soon as we have finished harvesting from our existing hives. Check out this video great to see such a 'hive of activity' of bees in a Wine Barrel.
When we move them to a hive, we will cut the top of the wine barrel out with a jigsaw at night, we will then harness that with rope to a beam and carefully remove and re-install each comb into a Langstroth hive. Once done add bees, remove wine barrel from the vicinity and put the hive on this exact spot, it promises to be a great success and I will blog that event for sure. We should get some really nice pictures.
Have a super cool Hump Day Wednesday evening!
Cheer$;)
