Urine Fertilizer Re-Visited, The Results Are Astounding!!
Hey everyone, disgusting right? Well at first I thought so too, but in life most things are relative, if you delve a little deeper everything is not as it seems and turns out this is actually well, rather astounding I would argue the best fertilizer ever even?
When I first tried this about a month ago I literally just took a Pee on a few of my smaller seedlings to test the theory and sadly killed most of the plants. What I did however notice is the larger plants that had been growing for some time and were more mature did not die, in-fact I noticed a rather interesting tinge of deep healthy green as well as accelerated growth rates, compared to surrounding plants not uhm 'fertilized'
Here as per youtube we have some fantastic videos that are a must watch to corroberate this! Initially after the 'shock' of this concept has worn off and based on the results achieved, it becomes rather exciting actually!

My strategy is simple. I mix molasses and epsom salts in a 5 litre container. I then pee in the container over a 12 hour period till I have about a litre. Top up with water and administer. This all sounds terribly disgusting right and based on that fact these vegetables I will ultimately end up eating, BUT Urine is actually sterile, so totally harmless, healthy in-fact!
This Spinach here is the same age as the rest in the pics with the only difference I have been 'fertilizing' it regularly and the others in these pictures not. The results are conclusive! The celery even which was 'midget' celery till now has showed some incredible growth!

I thought you were taking 'the piss out of me' until I did the google thing.
I fortunately only have a small herb garden so will not be saving pee or the planet in this way. Recycling is bad enough!

Do you need to mix the urine with molasses and Epson salt or can you pour it on without? I wonder of you burned the seedlings with to high of nitrogen on you initial experiment?
LOL I can't believe we are even chatting about this. That one chap on youtube just straight up slashes directly onto his zuchini. I feel that smaller plants it will kill. I dilute it all a litre to about 4 of water .... works a dream. Only on older more mature plants though if they are too small it seems to burn them!
I learned years ago that you simply need to dilute the urine with 8 parts water in order to use it directly on growing plants.
These days I simply add it directly to my compost pile. Helps it heat up.

I never cease to be amazed that people are uncomfortable using human urine and feces as fertilizer. We have been using animal manure forever and don’t think twice about it. But when it comes to people. Yuck!

Sure humanure contains bacteria and viruses. So does all manure. The key is to use a thermophilic composting method. That kills the dangerous stuff. But if you are only using stuff that you yourself produce then even that is not necessary. You don’t have to worry about catching something that you already have.
The Chinese supposedly used uncomposted material called nightsoil I believe and never had a problem until foreigners showed up carrying diseases that were unknown to the natives.
People really would be well served to get over their childish paranoias and get back to basics
