What Portuguese ash and Sahara dust do to the sun
It was a very strange day. The sun was shining abundantly, but it was not sunny and the sky was orange. Everybody was talking about this strange phenomenon.
It seems that it was due to the ash that has blown from Portugal and the dust that came from the Sahara.
The ash came from the terrible fires in Portugal. I'm so glad to hear that at this moment (it's 8 pm) the rain has extinguished most fires.
I made a picture of the sun at 5 pm this afternoon.
The strange phenomenon was all over the news. I made two pictures from the television.
There are more examples of nature trying to make an impression. Just yesterday, our friend Michiel send me the picture below.
It seems like the rainbow is trying to divide the sky into two parts!
Last week I made a picture of an almost scary situation. On the right side, the sun was shining and the sky was blue. But on the left side, the side the picture was taken, the sky became dark grey and black and the wind began to blow furiously.
It began to rain. After the rain, the sun returned and when the sun went down, the sky became beautiful orange and yellow.
Nature is beautiful, but sometimes nature is also terrible. There are natural disasters, like fires, floods, and hurricanes.
It's also a lesson for us all, we have to protect us from nature but we must also protect nature itself.

I was actually wondering if we would see a difference here. I am in Mallorca at the moment - bright blue skies and boiling hot sun - a normal October day I think
Those are some amazing photos...nature at it's best and worse at the same time. The weather has been so unpredictable and violent this past year. And we still have people who deny the existence of climate change...
It's unbelievable that people still deny the existence of climate change. The signs are all in red. Whatever the scientists claim, some people still say: " that's just an opinion"!!!
The human kind has really destroyed too much of nature my friend and most of the things we are seeing these days are mainly due to our own fault. You said it right, we really need to put hands together and protect the nature.

Unfortunately, you are right, we have destroyed too much of nature. When will we see that it is also in our own interest to protect nature? I hope politicians will join hands and make good arrangements about the environment. We can do a lot ourselves, but there has to be also an agreement between the leaders of this world.
