Nudgee Beach in QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

in #nature6 years ago (edited)

Good evening steemers,
Today I take you to an under-rated spot located a short drive away from where I live, about a 10min drive actually! This place is a popular fishing and dog walking spot called Nudgee Beach located on the north side of Brisbane, Australia. Most people around here think it's a bit of a shit hole but I quite like coming down here for an explore!

A view from the end of the "boardwalk" ........ Directly down from where this photo was taken were literally at least a hundred "legal sized" Yellow Fin Bream swimming in the shallows. This section of Nudgee is a protected area and fishing is prohibited.

Part of the path that leads to the picture above, this path goes foe roughly 1.5kms through the Mongrove section of the area.

On the east side of Nudgee Beach is the actual "Beach" section and on the west side is the Mangrove section that is technically called "Boondall Wetlands." I didn't get many shots of the Beachy part cause it was infested with fishermen and dog-walkers alike :-) I spent most of my time exploring the "Wetlands section" in this visit.

The view from where the wetlands section meets the mouth of the river and beach. These rocks were placed here by the local council, my guess is to slow down erosion but I'm not sure to be honest.

This spot is also a very popular location for bird-watching, and there are a couple of spots built to view the birds from. I am lost when it comes to birds but there were many different species flying about the place.

Both of these shots are from the bird-watching "huts" provided by the council.

I have decided to split this post into two parts, one for the travel types and the next one will be for the plant types of people. Not only does this give me an extra post I think it will give me a chance to go into proper detail about the plants in the area without turning the post into a novel!

A view from the Mangroves to the creek, literally millions of crabs live in this section!

Thanks for stopping by to read and Peaceful Travels,

Good old Nudgee beach. Some bull sharks get around there as well don't they?

Yeah mate, once the weather warms up a bit the bullies will be hungry :-)
