The insignificant chances

in #nature6 years ago (edited)

Тhere was a heavy rain In Doi Inhaton Park in northern Thailand. Having sensed the right conditions, millions of termites flew out of their nests after the rain, hoping to find a mating partner. All the air was filled with them. But few succeeded. Almost all of them died within hours. I photographed this dead termite, stuck to a wet blade of grass, as a reminder to myself of the transience of the life.

Oh, how sad. It is riveting to my heart sometimes, how fragile life is. Even the tiniest little souls have meaning and purpose. This fleeting, poetic life brought deeply thought-provoking emotions to ours. Well done. ♥

Incredible.... what a beautiful shot, and such a great reminder that our lives are fleeting...

This is a beautiful close up shot. It's so sharp! Oh, they have very short lives.. I wonder why the nature brings them to world, just to let them die in a few hours..

Good question. It seems the nature is blind to the suffering...
