Coral reefs are a place for the survival of living ecosystems for marine biota. Clean sea water free from pollution and waste water is needed to preserve coral reefs.
The definition of coral reef itself according to Wikipedia is:

Coral reef is a collection of coral animals that bersimbiosis with a kind of algae plant called zooxanthellae. Coral reefs are included in the type of Anthozoa class Cnidaria phylum that has tentacles. Coral colonies are formed by thousands of small animals called Polyps. In its simplest form, the coral is composed of a single polyp having a body shape like a tube with a mouth located at the top and surrounded by a Tentacle. But in most species, an individual coral polyp will develop into many individuals called colonies. These animals have unique shapes and various colors and can produce CaCO3. Coral reefs are a habitat for many marine plant species, marine animals and other marine microorganisms that are not yet known.

The state of the sea is dirty by plastic waste can threaten the extinction of coral reefs. This is because the plastics usually made of polypropylene can not be destroyed and decomposed. These plastic rubbish stores a variety of bacteria that make coral reefs to die.
Let's care for the environment, especially marine life, for the sake of nature and the survival of humans and also the marine biota, because the sea and its contents is a gift and natural wealth that will be passed on to the next generation.
