Thanks @valth! What a sad conservation story. Around the world, some populations have just forgotten what it means to live with large wildlife everyday. Large animals can be dangerous, but as you point out, there was no real threat here! Glad to hear WWF filed a suit.
Yeah, it's really sad. It sucks that this decision was made before they even checked if the animal was dangerous. However, a bull bison can weight 1,000kg, so I guess they were scared. Hopefully more will cross the border into Germany in the future without getting shot.
