Pandemic Explained - Super Fungus Bonus
The most overlooked threat?
Fungi
Many people think of viruses or bacteria when the words pandemic or epidemic are mentioned. Over the last few years many types of fungus have acquired immunity to common fungicides. There has also been some unintentional cross mutation from GMO plants, meaning super fungus.
A super fungus does not have to be infectious to humans, since fungus spores can cause breathing problems on their own. If it secretes toxins then it could be deadly, like a living bio weapon.
Dealing with it
The first step the authorities would take? Containment of cause, fencing of areas (like you neighbourhood) is a logical step. No one could leave these areas of course.
Alongside that would be trying to treat the fungus, perhaps with 'experimental' treatments. If that failed then areas would be destroyed, by burning maybe?
Many people would die, if the spores are hardened and can survive in air, then I could go global. The most likely scenario is an epidemic, but if airborne a pandemic is almost certain.
Conclusion
Harmless?
High efficiency particle filters (P3) will filter out fungus spores. This includes face masks, although a gas mask will protect your whole face. I hope you have enjoyed this post, please research this further to educate yourself.
