Signs of the Wet Season

I was walking to the BART train this morning and heard the frogs. They were not very close at all, actually. I'd guess about 300,400 ft (90 to 120 m) away and they were loud. Given this was very early this morning, well before the sunrise, it was pretty impressive. Normally, I hear these guys in a few months, once the coldest part of winter is past. Cold being relative, of course. The coastal California winters, even up in the East Bay Hills, are very, very mild. They are cold enough most of the time, amphibians wait until after the frosts are gone to come out and serenade. So far, this year, no frosts. But plenty of frogs.
