The park covers 4180 sq miles and is located in the valleys of the rivers Chobe, Ngweumba and Savuti. Swamp marshland forest and grassland dominate, with fauna typical of these ecosystems - including hippopotamuses elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, 18 species of antelopes and numerous bird species. A fossil lake-bed is among Chobe's most notable features.
