Uttarakhand or Uttaranchal is the 27th State of India formed in the year 2000 in the month of November. The State was the mountainous region of Uttar Pradesh. This new State offers beautiful view of the glacier, adventure, pilgrimage tours, trekking, and many more to do.
Uttaranchal or Uttarakhand is also known as “Devabhumi” or ‘Land of God”. It is called so there are many Hindu holy places in the State. It is also one of the favorite destinations as it is adorned true nature with high mountains, snow water cooling, pure and fresh air and relaxing. It is certainly a heaven on earth. The place is full of small villages where people are really simple, but there lifestyle is hard and difficult.
Devotees from across the glove come to India to attained salvation. They visit shrines like Cedar, Badri, Gangotri and Yamonotri are the most popular sites, along with Sapta Badri Panch Kedar where they come to pay tribute to our Hindu gods and goddesses, and of our ancient Indian culture. There are a few shrines of other religions as well as the Hemkund Sahib for Sikhs, which is visited in July and August. There are some lesser-known temples in Uttarakhand have been listed in the Archaeological Survey of India, like Surya temple in the village of Kosi-Katarmal and Jageswar (Shiva) temples in Almora district and Baijnath temple in Bageswar district to name a few curves intricate ancient shrines.

From the earliest times, hikers have hiked through thick forests and snowy mountain passes to reach Roop Kund, Pindari glacier-Kafni-Sundardunga, Gaumukh-Badrinath via Kalindi pass, Hemkund Sahib-Valley of Flowers National Park, the Sangla valley of Garhwal by Rupin pass. Some newly added destinations like Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, Har-ki Dun, etc to add to many others like Deoria Tal near Ukhimath and Dodital near Uttarkashi, Satopanth Such near Badrinath, Kedar and Vasuki Tal Tal, near Kedarnath, Khatling and Milam glaciers, Kuari pass, Panwali Bugyal etc are few of them.
