Abolitionist Abstractions Vlog 84: Barboursville Park, take two!
Here is today's vlog! After the recording on Friday, Murder Dog and I finished our hike around the New River Gorge. Once we were finally done, we scoped out a potential free campsite near Summersville Lake. We ended up not needing to make use of it, though, as our friend Jon insisted that we stay at his place for the weekend while he was going to be out of town. It's hard to turn down an air conditioned apartment with super fast internet service!
Yesterday was a bit of a lazy day, as Murder Dog was still wiped out from the previous day's hike and the skies kept threatening rain most of the day. That just gave me a chance to organize some of the photos that I've been taking and watch a couple of movies. That worked out well since Murder Dog wasn't the only one feeling the impact of the hike. Pro tip : don't get old!
Today we started off early, as I went to the supermarket to replenish some of the food supplies that I've been making use of while I'm here. After a quick breakfast, we made our way out to Barboursville Park. This time I was much more prepared for a hike, as I remembered to switch into my sneakers, and bring Murder Dog, water for both of us, my knife, a spare battery for the phone, and some herbal refreshments. We ended up hiking for several hours before Murder Dog had finally had enough. I'm sure we'll both be feeling it tomorrow!

Glad you are now enjoying nature. City life definitely wears ya down and nature picks ya up. Hiking is my way of meditating. Never could just sit in one spot and meditate. My brain doesn't shut down on hikes either, but none of the crap is stirred up in there only peaceful, positive, and creative thoughts instead. That third eye and your intuition will start kicking in and without the psychedelics. Oh... you can walk slow on hikes. You wont get as fatigued and you will notice more.
