What???? No way. I feel such shame being a man sometimes as we really can be dicks!

Over here in the UK most people feed their kids junk food and don't even understand the implications of what they are doing. They see it as normal, coz everyone else does it.

Preparing high nutrient food with a tasty flavour takes time. And not too many people are prepared to put in the extra work. But you clearly do. So, just ignore the man & keep doing what you're doing ;)
