Gabon (herbal medicine)
I was born far from the City. There were Doctor's those days but we couldn't afford. We live in poverty when I was a child, so getting a doctor to have a check up need's a big amount of money. It's hard to find money, that's why we only dependent on the herbal medicine that we learned from our ancestors.
Though we are not sure that it is effective but we have no choice but to trust this kind of plant. Thanks to this herbal also we were not being poison. Also taking herbal medicine is much more good in the body. There's no chemical that is mix into it. Of course it is important to take care of your body for a healthy lifestyle. Have you noticed that people who lived in old generation live for long.
This kind of plant is called gabon or known in the internet as sambong. When you're sick with cold, cough and stomach pains. This kind of herbal is good for you. Even injuries you can also use this, you just to heat it with fire but not burn it and put it in the injured part.
But most of the time we put it in water and drink it. It can heal kabag or gas pain. Like for example when you feel like your stomach is full of air and it will cause diarhea. This kind of herbal will help you to release the air in your stomach. You can also drink it if you feel like being thirsty that the thirst won't be gone.
In our brgy. this kind of plant is known. This is true, you can look into internet if your doubtful.

yeah but I think it is known if you use the word "sambong" but I'm not sure because"gabon" is a Visayan word.

It looks like comfrey, and comfrey is used for the same ailments you list. Does it grow to about one meter and end in small sprays of purple flowers?
yes it is but the flower is white.

These are cultivated varieties though, not wild.
This is not wild plant because we can find it everywhere here. Many people planted this kind of plant. I think you can only found it in Asia. I'm not to sure anyway.
