Natural Remedies to relieve Dental Abscess.

Dental abscess is a painful infection that starts at the root of a tooth that causes severe tooth decay and is caused by bacteria that enter the tooth and extend to the root. This infection can spread from the root of the tooth to the bones that support it.

The symptoms that a person with a dental abscess presents are: throbbing and sharp pains, sensitivity to the pressure of chewing or biting, alteration in the capacity to taste, bad breath, swelling of the face or cheek, red and painful gums, difficulty swallowing food, swollen and painful lymph nodes under the jaw or in the neck, fever and malaise.

Black Tea

Black tea contains antioxidants that help fight infections. In dental abscesses it is used since they absorb some of the toxins and pus.

Soak the black tea bag in warm water for a few minutes, squeeze and place it in the inflamed area. Leave it there for a few hours or overnight, then rinse your mouth with a salt water solution. Repeat once a day for a couple of weeks.

Garlic

Garlic contains is a natural antibiotic, since it has an active compound called allicin, which helps prevent bacterial infections. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that relieve pain and swelling.

Peel and wash 3 garlic cloves, crush them and extract the juice (this releases the allicin compound) and then apply it on the affected area. Repeat at least 2 times a day.

Clove

The clove is an excellent remedy for any type of dental condition, since it has antiseptic, analgesic and antibacterial properties that help to alleviate toothache, inflammation and pain in the gums.

In a bowl mix the clove powder with the water to form a paste. Apply it on the affected part and let it act for 15 minutes. Repeat this procedure at least 3 times a day.

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar contains two acids called acetic acid and malic acid that are excellent antibacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal. As well as it has disinfectant and anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce pain and inflammation. In these cases it is advisable to use the unprocessed apple cider vinegar.

Take a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in your mouth and rinse. Leave it for 5 minutes then rinse the mouth with warm water. Repeat this 2-4 times a day for a month.

Oregano oil

Oregano oil contains antibacterial, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties that help eliminate infections. When used in a dental abscess, it numbs the affected area. Oregano oil is used for dental abscesses, as it helps to drain them, while eliminating the bacteria found in the pus.

Place 3 drops of oregano oil directly on a cotton swab. Apply the swab directly on the affected tooth and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Together prepare a mouthwash by mixing 3 to 5 drops of oregano with ¼ cup of warm water. Use the mixture to rinse your mouth for about 5 minutes Repeat this remedy 3 or 4 times a day.

Tips to avoid abscess in the teeth:

• Use baking soda and peroxide-based toothpaste.
• Use a soft toothbrush.
• Brush your teeth three times a day.
• Use antimicrobial mouth rinse, after each brushing.
• Replace the toothbrush every 3 to 4 months.
• Wire or interdental cleaner to clean between the teeth daily.
• Avoid junk food and eat healthy.
• Avoid drinking coffee when you have pain or dental infection.
