Why do many Canadians people put their national flags on their bags?

I think in many cases this happens because works takes me to places where there aren't allot of tourists. After meeting some peoples they explained that its a pretty common problem that they travel in groups they had similar although lesser problems.

Believe it or not, they mostly aren't Canadians doing that, it's mostly Americans that put a Canadian logo of some kind on their luggage, although many Canadians will do it as well.
