Flat Earth: NASA is Confused - Is it Hot or Cold in Low Earth Orbit?

NASA seems to be confused about the temperature in the thermosphere. According to their own information it is either upwards of 4,500 degrees Fahrenheit or 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

Direct quote from their article found at link below: "The thermosphere lies between the exosphere and the mesosphere. “Thermo” means heat, and the temperature in this layer can reach up to 4,500 degrees Fahrenheit. If you were to hang out in the thermosphere, though, you would be very cold because there aren’t enough gas molecules to transfer the heat to you. This also means there aren’t enough molecules for sound waves to travel through.

This layer of Earth’s atmosphere is about 319 miles (513 kilometers) thick. That’s much thicker than the inner layers of the atmosphere, but not nearly as thick as the exosphere.

In another NASA article they claim it is 250 degrees Farenheit in the sun and -250 in the shade.

Here is a direct quote from the article: "Without thermal controls, the temperature of the orbiting Space Station's Sun-facing side would soar to 250 degrees F (121 C), while thermometers on the dark side would plunge to minus 250 degrees F (-157 C). There might be a comfortable spot somewhere in the middle of the Station, but searching for it wouldn't be much fun!"

So, which is it? 250 degrees Fahrenheit in the sun or 4,500 degrees Fahrenheit in the sun? Or, does it matter since, according to one article, you would feel cold since the air is thin?
