Why does nasa lie?

Here is a picture from the Instagram of astronaut or should I say Astro”Not” Chris Hadfield. Why would he photoshop this album cover and say it was a hole in the space station. NASA cost tax payers over 18 billion dollars every year. Is it for the money? They could just print the money and steal it from you through inflation instead stealing through taxation? The more I look into the more I am leaning towards they are lying about the shape of the earth and nasa is used as an “authority” about where we live and what is beyond what we can see with our own eyes. Why do you think they are lying? Is it to hide flat earth or is it to steal money? Or is their another reason for their lies?
