Dark Waters (Movie Review)

When I saw this movie - my mind was blown off. Not that it was the first time it happened but I wasn't expecting anything like that this time. I have watched many whistle-blower movies but this one will rank amongst the best in my opinion.

Spoiler-Free-Review

At first, you have to know the genre of the movie - biography, history, drama so it means it's a real thing. It's about something that happened (or is still happening). It makes everything much scarier than if it was just a fiction.

As you can see in the picture, the main heroe is portrayed by Mark Ruffalo and it's a good choice. I've always like his character. To me it seems that he's a bit slow in a nice way and that's what to love about him.

His wife is acted by Anne Hathaway who you may know as a batwoman. In this movie, she doesn't have a latex suit on but she does a great job even without it.

Plot
The main heroe is Robert Bilott, an American environmental attorney from Cincinnati, Ohio. He's early in his career and the lawfirm he works for represents various chemical companies.

One day he finds out that one of the companies are dumping chemicals in the area he grew up in. He starts digging to find out what is really happening there.

It's like he jumps in a rabbit-hole that's so deep that you can fall for an eternity and never reach the bottom. He starts fighting the Dupont company and it's a big sacrifice. He then spends almost all of his life with the lawsuit.

It's really a dark movie about what is happening behind the scenes. I don't want to ruin you this movie and won't say anything else but the chemical compound he found is now in almost every living human and animal on earth. It's indestructible and it's probably in you.

Conclusion

It's a must watch movie for everyone. It makes you think about the products we're using in our daily lives. There are so many things happening that we know nothing about. There is always a chance we're being poisoned by big coorporations just for profit.

It's sad but it's true. You can never truly know anything but yourself. And even that's often a problem.

Have a great time watching this movie!

Mark is a fine actor, but after his performance in Spotlight, I'm not convinced he can carry a film on his own anymore. Was it really that mind blowing?

Haven't seen that one.
The movie was frightening to watch knowing it's the real thing.
