@naomi.louise here is your nameinlights
A post about @naomi.louise
This is probably the most important nameinlights post that I have done up to now.
Please read the full post as I am explaining a very important point.
I have known my wife @naomi.louise for many years, 30 years actually and we have now been married for 7 years. It was a long but well worthwhile wait. You will notice that @naomi.louise have not done many posts, due to the fact that we had an unfortunate event. You see… she had her password for her steemit account saved in her browser and never had to retype the password every time she posted an article or voted.
This old account naomi-louise is where she did all her posts up to now. We cannot get into the account anymore as for some reason she is logged out of Steemit, and now we cannot find the correct password. She used a very specific sequence of letters for her password, and we cannot get the combination again. The only thing I can think. Is that maybe a letter or two did not register when she typed her password initially and when you do the maths, I do not think we will ever be able to get into the older account again.
The most unfortunate part is that she has 894 SBD in the account. We did however decide to create a new account to start over as she is losing valuable posting and voting time.
Does anybody know of a way that we can get the password back (even brute force hack, as we definely know which letters and numbers were used?
You can read her new introduceyourself post here, where she explains the situation herself. In the introduceyourself post she posted both her orinigal image when she joined steemit loooong ago, and she posted a new photo of herself with yesterdays' date on it as proof that it is really her new account.
I know that reposting old articles is not allowed, but she will be reposting all her articles here from her old account, which is about 10 or so posts, as she feels that is part of her and her history.
She will be using the following call out in all the reposts.
Please take time to read @naomi.louise post's here and please follow her going forward.
Have you tried looking at the saved passwords in the settings of the browser?
In chrome you go to settings, then I think it's advanced or security (sorry, typing this in transit, on a phone, this is all from memory), then saved passwords. You are then prompted to enter your master/machine password, then you can see all of your saved passwords.
Beautiful !!! no I did not try this yet . We'll give it a go, and you will receive a reward from me should this work :)
Hey @azurejasper, it was the perfect answer and would probably have worked. There is however not a password saved anymore for the older account. There is a one for the newly created account and we can do the show password and it works! Thanks for your help, but I think the new account replaced the older account... as it is not in the list to select
Ah that's too bad. Hopefully one of the devs can help you guys out. That's a lot of money to be locked out of.
Thank you very much for the name in lights @jacor.
I was so excited when I read the comment @azurejasper made. I'm so disappointed that it didn't work. Thank you anyway. Learned something at least.
Oh man, I feel for you; I think if you get hold of somebody like @anyx he may be able to brute force it for you.
There are a lot of devs and coders here, so I'm sure that something can be done if you know the sequence of letters.
Very best of luck.

Thanks for the support @cryptogee , I will contact @anyx ... We know which numbers and letters and sequence used... We need to run all combinations and permutations leaving out a letter or two each time ... Will be an interesting project :)
perhaps some other hashtags could be added so that @dan or @ned will see the post. #steemit-issues #steemit etc
Good luck. I hope you'll be able to recover.
Nice post @jacor
Hey @jacor you just need to go to github and open up an issue I think.
